OTB Choices

"I like concentrating on my artwork!"

"I enjoy the equipment and feel more confident with            cameras, I've got some good friends"

Welcome to Outside the Box Choices Project! In 2014 following the success of the café we established a new service for adults and young people with a learning disability. The Choices project launched in the August and by October had 14 members. Now in 2019 demand for the service continues to grow and the project has undergone vast development and expansion. Our aim is to provide meaningful activities, enabling our members to express themselves creatively, learn new skills, showcase their talents, stay healthy, fit and safe, be able to live more independently, make and see friends and have some fun!

"Choices is great"

The project currently offers a wide range of creative & artistic, therapeutic, sports, social and wellbeing activities including: arts and crafts, photography, music, drama, screen printing and much more!! For a full list of what we have on offer click here

At Choices we are always busy expanding our range of activities and overall offer for members, this ensures they can have more opportunities to learn new skills and explore their creative expression. For example, this week sees the start of our new 8 week health and wellbeing programme and our new cook & eat 10 week course is coming soon!!

"Coming to OTB was a turning point for my son, staff have helped and nurtured him, he has been able to express himself"

The next exciting chapter in the Outside the Box story is our Saturday social group, so watch this space for more information.

The OTB Presents... Shop is our gift shop and showcase for work made by our members based at 10 Church Street, Ilkley, just around the corner from the café. It provides Outside the Box with a new and exciting outlet to showcase the diverse talents and abilities of our members, giving them a sense of purpose, letting them see their work appreciated and valued whilst promoting an understanding amongst customers and audiences of the diverse talents of people with a learning disability.

It provides a unique range of arts-based gifts made and inspired by our members.  A range of cards, prints and small gifts will be on offer, alongside a selection of our OTB  jams and chutneys. Please see our OTB Presents tab for more information.
