Our Members are at the heart of Outside the Box. We are ambitious for our members and for the inclusion of people with additional needs. We think ‘outside the box’ and do things differently so that people who need our support can fulfil their potential, enjoy their lives, be healthy and active in their local community.

The members play a major role in the organisation, the overall team Members are involved in all aspects of the charity. We work hard to respond to the needs, preferences and goals of each member and our portfolio of activities is flexible and dynamic. Our range of services to include:

OTB Café, more than just a café!

 

The café offers a supported work environment that helps members gain real experience, develop new skills and increase their confidence. The café runs 7 days a week from 9 till 5pm. We offer members sessions throughout the week, either on a morning from 9 till 1pm or an afternoon from 1pm till 5pm. During their sessions members will  get involved with lots practical, hands on work experience activities, build on their skills through an individualised learning plan and access to additional training and qualifications .

The types of activities members learn and do at the café include:

• Food preparation and Baking • Working on a Till and Money Handling • Front of House and Customer Service • Hot drinks and Barista work • Cafe general operations. 

 

Due to  the success of OTB  vacancies across our services are limited. Below offers an indication of our current vacancies. However, these do change on a regular basis so the best way to find out more information is by getting

We continue to strive to do more and better and welcome ideas, offers of support and new partnerships. You may be someone with learning disabilities or other support needs, a parent/carer, a professional working with our target group, an employer, school, college, university, another charity or community group
